Struggling Seniors Get Much Needed Fuel Assistance

Mrs. Tankel and I would like to express our most sincere thanks to the Jewish Family Service and, especially, to Jerry Tardiff for their help and concern relative to obtaining a home heating oil delivery for us.

Our Social Security allotment has remained the same as it was in 2009 and our Tufts Medicare Preferred HMO monthly charge has increased by $33, increasing our payment by $800 for 2010. The free oil delivery was certainly most appreciated and welcomed as, before the additional cost of our HMO, for 2010 we two seniors were already struggling financially and still are in order to make ends meet. Our oil reserve was nearly depleted and Jerry, in his caring nature, telephoned us to see if we had enough oil to carry us through until the delivery.
