‘Something Healthy to Eat’ Shares $10K Grant for Cable Series
The show will be based on the existing episodes of “Something Healthy to Eat,” which are aired on local access cable TV stations on the North Shore. The goal is to provide on-going education on the positive impact of diet in order to stem the increase in obesity and its associated chronic diseases. While the primary objective will be to promote healthy and affordable eating for youth, all the information will also be applicable to adults.
A new, abbreviated edition of Goodman’s book, “Something Healthy to Eat” will be distributed through local food pantries and community health centers. The recipes will be printed in English and Spanish. A new website will be developed featuring quick, easy and healthy recipes and offering shopping, cooking and menu tips. The target audience is parents of school-age youth to provide them with healthy cooking ideas, healthy snack options and important health information.
