Every bride and groom wants to look beautiful and fit on his or her wedding day. This new chapter in one’s life is a very important time. One of the most successful ways to handle the stress is to be sure one is eating well, and getting plenty of rest and exercise. Here are some new books that address a healthy lifestyle.

From the Bravo television hit “The Real Housewives of New York City,” Bethenny Frankel, the celebrity natural food chef, brings us two books on how to be naturally thin without starving, exercising incessantly, or taking diet pills. In her typical crass and straightforward manner, Frankel delivers a strategy for overcoming overeating obsessions, and offers suggestions on how to take control of one’s life so that food is not in control.

In her first book, “Naturally Thin,” Frankel delivers 10 easy-to-follow steps on how to achieve goals and become naturally thin. Her first master rule says one’s diet is like a bank account. She believes just as you balance your spending and savings, you must balance your food choices. From this basic premise, she guides readers into the nine other rules. With more than 30 simple and delicious recipes, Frankel gives us the “dish” to serving up a healthier and thinner lifestyle.

In Frankel’s follow-up book, she teaches readers how to eat and cook healthy. She inspires those who have no time, energy or patience to cook. From breakfast, lunch, snacks, dinner, cocktails and special occasions, this celebrity chef teaches us how to substitute empty calories for healthier ingredients in 60 easy-to-follow recipes. Readers will learn how to start with basic ingredients — the culinary version of the perfect pair of jeans and the little black dress. They will then learn how to take risks (or accessorize,) remembering that variety is the spice of life.

Fans can meet Bethenny Frankel at Barnes and Noble, 660 Beacon St., Boston on February 3 at 7p.m.
