On June 10, more than 375 people attended Jewish Family Service of the North Shore’s 13th annual Community Heroes event. Honored were (l-r) Joel Weingarten, Maura Copeland, Sue Callum, Joan Finn, Kara Gilberg, Alex Patkin, Minnie Singer and Ralph Kaplan. The Sagan-McGuirk family also honored the memory of Charles “Chuck” Sagan by naming The Charles N. Sagan Adoption Scholarship Fund, which will provide financial support to families who wish to adopt. The scholarship fund was strengthened by more than $20,000 in contributions through the event. In total, the event raised over $130,000 to support JFS.
